Until last year, I hadn't drawn comics since elementary school. I never saw myself as an "illustrator" because - outside of tattooing - I thought I was too undisciplined, chaotic and messy in my art process and practice. When I started participating in the free Friday Night Comics series at SAW, my relationship to my work began to radically change - I didn't see myself as a "used to be" anymore, I was becoming free to draw my truth. Although the bulk of Limette is being created from my bedroom in Köln-Kalk, the SAW community has been holding my hand the whole time.
